Front Porch Digital Signs Global Reseller Agreement With Volicon

Volicon Observer Offers Best-of-Breed Video Monitoring and Compliance Logging

BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Incentra Solutions, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: ICNS) today announced that its Front Porch Digital Broadcast and Media Division has signed a global reseller agreement with Volicon. As a result of this new relationship, Front Porch will market Volicon Observer to its growing base of worldwide broadcast customers.

The Observer system, recently announced at the NAB 2005 show in April, allows real-time monitoring and recording of a large number of broadcast channels. Audio, video and closed captioning are stored for 90 days or more. Live and archived data are instantly available to many simultaneous users over a LAN or remotely over the Internet. The Observer product, based on cutting-edge video streaming technology developed at Volicon, is tailored to the video storage, retrieval, and analysis needs of broadcasters, cable networks, media monitoring services and government agencies.

"Many of our customers have expressed an interest in purchasing a better solution to video monitoring and compliance logging of programs as part of their overall digital workflow. We wanted to respond to that need but did not want to redirect our development team from building the best archive management tool on the market," said Front Porch President Michael Knaisch.

"We were referred to Volicon by two of their existing customers, both major US networks, who had both recently purchased the Observer system," Knaisch added. "They told us it was far superior to competing products, and suggested we establish a partnership. When we examined the Volicon technology, we learned that it was indeed a best-of-breed solution that enjoyed significant competitive advantages over other systems. We can now offer our customers the best video monitoring application on the market without weakening our development efforts on our core product, DIVArchive."

"Front Porch Digital is recognized as the global leader in broadcast archive management, and with more than 100 DIVArchive installations worldwide, they offer us an opportunity to greatly expand our market penetration," said Eli Warsawski, President and CEO of Volicon. "The combination of Volicon's Observer with Front Porch's DIVArchive now gives broadcasters a more complete solution to their compliance and archiving needs."

The Internet of Things will challenge the status quo of how IT and development organizations operate. Or will it? What are the new priorities for the connected business? First: businesses need to think differently about the types of connections they will need to make – these span well beyond the traditional app to app into more modern forms of integration including SaaS integrations, mobile integrations, APIs, device integration and Big Data integration. It’s important these are unified together vs. doing them all piecemeal. Second, these types of connections need to be simple to design, adapt and configure...
